When it comes to ensuring the safety and compliance of your electrical systems, several crucial tests need to be conducted regularly. PAT Testing, EICRs, Smoke Alarm Testing, and Emergency Light Testing are all essential procedures that help to protect both people and property. In this article, we will explore the importance of each of these tests and provide an overview of their associated costs.

PAT Testing

PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) is a process that involves the inspection and testing of electrical appliances to ensure their safety. This includes checking for any potential faults or defects that could pose a risk of electrical shock or fire. PAT testing is particularly important in workplaces, rental properties, and public spaces where a large number of electrical appliances are used.

The cost of PAT testing can vary depending on the number of appliances that need to be tested. Our prices are, 10 or fewer items = £45. 11 - 20 = £55 21 -30 = £65. NO VAT - We don't charge VAT.

These prices include stickers on each plug to show pass or fail and a certificate upon completion.

EICRs

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a comprehensive inspection and testing of the electrical installations within a property. It assesses the safety and compliance of the electrical system, identifying any potential hazards or faults. EICRs are essential for both residential and commercial properties to ensure the safety of occupants and comply with legal requirements.

The cost of an EICR can vary depending on the size and complexity of the installation. Our prices are £130 for 10 or fewer circuits, £150 for 10 - 15 circuits, and £170 for 15 -20 circuits, which can go up to several hundred pounds for larger premises. NO VAT - We don't charge VAT

Smoke Alarm Testing

Smoke alarms are a vital component of any property's fire safety system. Regular testing ensures that they are in proper working condition and can effectively detect smoke in the event of a fire. This is particularly important in residential properties, where smoke alarms are often the first line of defense against fire-related emergencies. Having failed smoke alarms could also void your home insurance.

The price for us to carry out the test is £60 which includes a certificate. NO VAT - We don't charge VAT

Emergency Light Testing

Emergency lighting plays a critical role in providing illumination during power outages or emergencies. It ensures the safe evacuation of occupants and enables emergency services to navigate the premises. Regular testing of emergency lights is essential to ensure their functionality when needed.

The cost of emergency light testing can vary depending on the number of emergency lights and the complexity of the system. On average, prices range from £2 to £5 per light. It is recommended to schedule annual or bi-annual tests to comply with safety regulations and ensure the proper functioning of emergency lighting.
